New Eden is famous for being a dangerous, cutthroat place. Less well known are its many stories of kindness and generosity. I'd like to change that. I'm touring the most dangerous parts of New Eden, looking for and recording these stories, while writing a few of my own along the way.

As a member of Signal Cartel, I am honor-bound to uphold its credo. In essence, this means I do my best to be a friend to everyone I meet in my travels, never initiating aggression against another and striving to be left in peace to do my work.

You'll meet plenty of folks in New Eden who want to kill you and destroy your possessions. I'd like it if you also made a friend or two along the way. Count me among that number. I'll keep an eye out for you on my d-scan, and I'll be sure to give you a shout in Local when we meet.

If I can ever be of service to you in any way, please feel free to send me an EVE-mail. If you're looking for a family in New Eden, our doors are always open. If you're lost and alone and just need a hand, look no further than the scouts of the EvE-Scout Enclave. You can usually find us hanging out in the public "EvE-Scout" channel.

"I shall make no aggression, I shall have no kills, I shall win no glory. I am the beacon in the darkness. I am the scout who maps the realms of men. I pledge my clone and my honor to the Signal Cartel." -- adapted from the Signal Cartel oath, as originally set forth by Veldin Ostus on 21 Sep YC 117

The friendly folks of COGG

Touring through a remote section of Provi null today, I ran into the terrifically friendly folks at COGG. [ 19:45:56 ] Thrice Hapus > o7! This is quite a busy constellation. [ 19:46:09 ] Momiji Sakora > o7 Thrice, welcome to COGG HQ <3 [ 19:46:11 ] OfTheAncients > o7 eve scout! [ 19:46:13 ]…

0001: Angels.

The angels appeared to Jefry Thrice-blessed Hapus and spoke to him out of the black-hole darkness in the dead of the night. He was wide awake and scared. He couldn’t have been more than five years old. There had been a fire earlier that evening. One of those dirt-cheap Minmatar appliances that FreeEx hauls in had…

Reticent Russians.

Gating back to a constellation with only one system left to map is not always super-fun, especially when there is no wormhole connection from Thera to anywhere too close. I jumped through a wormhole to Nalvula, and then jumped gate-to-gate almost all the way to ZLZ-1Z. Only a few systems had any capsuleers present, so…

Fit as a fiddle.

Back in Thera after losing the Φιλάδελφος, I faced into the task of purchasing and fitting a replacement vessel. I was only one system shy of completing my tour of 0-8MWQ, and I wanted to get that completed as soon as possible. I don’t like to have uncompleted tasks looming over me, if I can avoid it…

Pod express.

Growing up on our farm, I learned that the sun doesn’t shine all the time. Which is a good thing, because growing things and animals (and people!) need the rain, too. After the silence of the last few systems, it was a nice break to find a friend in VI2K-J. was There was only one…

Synergy of Silence.

After leaving the friendly chat with my new friends in 5T-KM3, I moved on to LS9B-9. This is space controlled currently by Synergy of Steel, a few of whom were present when I gated in. In my typical fashion, I introduced myself to the locals. [ 14:52:43 ] EVE System > Channel changed to Local :…

Vale of the Not So Silent.

Today’s leg of the Goodwill Tour found me in the 0-8MWQ constellation of Vale of the Silent. There was a Thera connection to a ZLZ-1Z, which could not have been more fortuitous. And it was so nice to find a friend almost right away. [ 14:12:10 ] EVE System > Channel changed to Local :…

Look but don’t touch.

As promised to the residents of this area of Branch, I left all the signatures in these two systems alone. I scanned them down in order to log them, but I did not run any sites. When I am in a populated region and the residents make a request of me, I honor it as…

Great chat.

In addition to securing about 23 million ISK from a couple Guristas relic sites today, I also had the pleasure to run into a couple members of DARKNESS. while I was scanning and warping around S-B7IT. I am not adept at explaining what I am up to out here in null, but I think the…

Today in 0C-PZ4, I did not run into any capsuleers. Fortunately, the OJ-A8M system held a few signatures to scan down, including a couple ruined Guristas monuments, where I was able to secure roughly 17 million kredits in salvaged goods. Money’s not the most important element on the goodwill tour, but it is needed. “Necessary but…
